Traditionally,
the journey (yatra) is done from the west to the east starting from
Yamunotri, then proceeding to Gangotri & finally to Kedarnath
& Badrinath. Yamunotri & Gangotri fall under Uttarkashi
district in Garhwal region of Uttaranchal. Badrinath falls under
Chamoli & also house three out of five Panch Kedar, Panch Badris,
Sacred Sikh shrine of Hemkund Sahib, skiing paradise. Auli &
the legendary Valley of Flowers. The holy pilgrimage of Kedarnath
nestles in Rudraprayag.
