April Fairs Festivals : Easter Sunday
EASTER
SUNDAY : Celebration 0f New Life
During April, Christians the world over celebrate Easter, also a festival of
the rejuvenation of life and living. On that day, Christ rose again after his
death by crucifixion. Little baskets containing cute chocolate eggs, small chicks
of cottonwool and sweets made of sugared almonds are bought for children, symbolising
new life. There are prayers and services held in all churches to end the mourning
period of lent which begins with Ash Wednesday 40 days before and ends on Easter
Sunday.
