Golf in India
 India
was the first coutry outside Great Britain to take up the game of
golf. The royal Calcutta Golf club, established in 1829, is the
oldest golf club in India.
In India you can play golf almost anywhere. This outdoor sport is
widely played by a cross section of people & courses are offen
set against dramatic backgrounds, in the hills, in the high Himalayas,
in metriopolitan cities & in small towns, by the sides of lakes
& forests or surrounded by tea estates, out in the desert &
in old British cantonments.
