Express trains were introduced in 1988 & they operate at the
speed of 140 km per hour.
Shtabdi Express runs from Delhi to Bhopal, Lucknow, Kalka, Chandigarh,
Dehradun, Amritsar, Ajmer & back to Delhi. Other routes on
which Shatabdi Express operates are Chennai to Mysore & back;
Chennai to Tirupati & back; Mumbai to Ahmedabad & back;
Mumbai to Pune & back; Howrah to Bokaro city & back; Howrah
to Rourkela & back; Chennai to Coimbatore & back; Rajahmundry
to Secunderabad & back.
